Privacy Policy

ClimoraLens is a product of ShantiOni LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ClimoraLens mobile application.

Information We Process

ClimoraLens processes information that you choose to provide when using the app, including:

  • Locations, addresses, landmarks, or place names you search for;

  • Locations you select or adjust using the map;

  • Account information you provide when creating a ClimoraLens account, including your email address and a display name (username);

  • The latitude and longitude associated with a location you select;

  • Information you provide to customize a ClimoraLens Brief, such as your time of visit and Community Resilience selection; and

  • Information associated with places or Briefs you choose to save.

ClimoraLens does not access or track your device's real-time GPS location. Locations are based on places you search for or points you manually select on the map.

How We Use Information

Location and Brief information is used only to provide ClimoraLens features, including identifying climate and geographic characteristics, generating ClimoraLens Briefs, displaying relevant location information, and allowing you to save and revisit Briefs.

Account information is used to create and authenticate your ClimoraLens account.

Information Stored on Your Device

Certain app information is stored locally on your device so that ClimoraLens features work as expected. This may include saved places and Briefs and subscription status.

Account authentication information, including your email address and display name, is stored through Supabase as described below.

Information stored locally on your device is not uploaded to ClimoraLens simply because it is stored there. Deleting a saved place removes it from My Places, and uninstalling the app removes locally stored ClimoraLens data.

Third-Party Services

ClimoraLens uses a limited number of third-party services necessary to provide its core functionality.

OpenStreetMap and Nominatim may process location searches and selected coordinates to identify places and geographic locations.

Apple Maps on iOS and Google Maps on Android may provide the underlying map displayed within the app. Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Apple and Google may also process purchase and subscription information when purchases are made through their respective app stores.

Supabase provides account authentication and secure storage of your account information, such as your email address and display name.

Cloudflare operates the backend infrastructure that generates ClimoraLens Briefs, including processing the location and Brief information described above.

Tracking, Analytics, and Advertising

ClimoraLens does not currently use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.

ClimoraLens may keep anonymous, aggregate counts of which locations are searched most often within the app—for example, to understand overall interest in a place. This information is never tied to your account, your device, or any individual visit and is separate from any advertising or tracking technology, which ClimoraLens does not use.

We do not sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers.

The app does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photo library, or device GPS location.

Payments and Subscriptions

Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by the applicable platform. ClimoraLens does not receive or store your full payment card information.

Data Sharing

ClimoraLens does not sell your personal information and does not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

Limited information is processed by the service providers that operate ClimoraLens's infrastructure—including Supabase for account authentication and storage and Cloudflare for the backend infrastructure that generates ClimoraLens Briefs—solely to operate the app on our behalf.

ClimoraLens does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Retention and Deletion

Information saved locally within the app remains on your device until you delete it through the app, where applicable, or uninstall ClimoraLens.

Information temporarily transmitted to provide a requested ClimoraLens function may be processed by ClimoraLens infrastructure and the service providers described above.

Our backend infrastructure, operated through Cloudflare, keeps short-lived operational logs of requests for debugging and reliability purposes. These logs are not linked to your ClimoraLens account—no request to our backend includes an account identifier—and are retained only briefly before being deleted.

Account information stored through Supabase remains associated with your ClimoraLens account until the account is deleted. You can delete your ClimoraLens account and associated account information at any time through Settings in the app. Deleting your account removes your account information from ClimoraLens's active systems immediately; backup copies retained by our service providers for standard data-recovery purposes may persist for up to 7 days before being permanently removed.

Deleting the ClimoraLens app from your device does not by itself delete account information stored through Supabase.

Children’s Privacy

ClimoraLens is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ClimoraLens changes, including when new account, payment, analytics, or other functionality is introduced. The updated policy will display a revised “Last updated” date.
